I’m Karo – an arts therapist offering individual and group sessions online

focus

I support and encourage people to express themselves through creativity
and explore their worlds, with self-acceptance and sense of play.
At their pace, with curiosity and presence.

I am here to listen, ask questions and witness the creative process.

You don’t need to label yourself ‘creative’ or ‘artsy’ to engage in and benefit from arts psychotherapy — it’s okay to come as you are.

offerings & services

I work with people of all ages with and without disabilities,
with trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and client centred approaches.
I also provide services to NDIS participants.

  • individual Arts Therapy in-person 60 or 90 minutes

  • individual Arts Therapy online 60 or 90 minutes

  • group Arts Therapy online or in person

How it works

The process looks like this:
1. You reach out - I respond.
2. We chat about your goals and how you will know that the therapy helps.
I ask questions to learn about you. It’s all confidential, so your details are safe with me.
3. We agree on a date, time and a way to meet.
4. I send you a service agreement to sign so that we both feel comfortable and have clarity.
5. We meet and begin the work.

When we meet, we can talk, experiment and play.
I will bring different art materials and media to try out. If we meet online, you’ll have to have your own (I’ll explain when we chat). We might use mindfulness techniques. At your pace. You don’t have to be good at art to engage with it.

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Our 12 year old daughter has been doing weekly art therapy sessions with Karo for around 4 months now and it has made such an amazing difference for her. She had a rough start to high school and was feeling sad, isolated and lonely and became really withdrawn and down even when at home. After each art therapy session we noticed that she looked like she had the weight of the world taken off her shoulders. She was talkative, sharing her feelings and light, happy and energetic and her confidence is slowly building back up. She loves her art therapy sessions with Karo and we love having our happy girl back.
